We’re Campbell and Nic—mates since Hamilton Boys’ High (’09–’13) who never really left the Waikato in spirit. The spark for Padel Park started the way great ideas often do: a New Year catch-up, someone asked “Have you played padel before?”, and suddenly we couldn’t stop talking. Since then it’s been a slow-burn build—late nights, plenty of learning—but backed by what we know and love: Campbell’s engineering and leadership at BCD Group, and Nic’s years as a professional hockey player (and portfolio manager) chasing smart, steady progress.
Padel Park is our way of bringing back that club feel Hamilton’s been missing—a place to play, hang out, and belong. Think league nights, open courts, good music, and an easy vibe where you can watch games from the viewing platforms and meet your next doubles partners. We’re opening end of November, and we’ll keep shaping The Park with your feedback so it always feels like your home court. Come be part of it.
When we were building the courts back in November, we reached out to a mix of mates — from high school friends to hockey teammates — to help us move glass and get everything set up.One of the guys who put his hand up was Hamish Cameron.
At the time, Hamish had no background in padel, but what stood out straight away was his ability to connect with people and bring energy to the environment. It didn’t take long for Campbell and Nic to realise he’d be a great fit at Padel Park. They approached him soon after — and as the saying goes, the rest is history.
Originally from Taupo and now based in Hamilton, Hamish is a key part of the day-to-day energy at Padel Park.
Despite being relatively new to padel (introduced to the game by Nic), Hamish has quickly become a familiar face around the courts. Coming from a strong hockey background and a love for all sports, he brings a genuine enthusiasm and approachable nature that helps make the park feel welcoming for everyone. His role is simple but important — keeping the place running smoothly and the vibe high.
Whether it’s helping players get set up, chatting about events, or just making sure everyone’s enjoying their time on court, Hamish plays a big part in what makes Padel Park what it is.
You’ll usually find him around the facility, always up for a chat — or on WhatsApp if needed.
Post-match, you’ll likely spot him with a cold Speight’s in hand.
League play, open matches, socials, and launch parties. Pick a date and we’ll see you on the court.
