SANCTIONING STATEMENT

The Bayleys Padel Open is a club-run Tier 2 event sanctioned by Padel New Zealand. Official Padel New Zealand Tier 2 ranking points will be awarded in accordance with the Padel New Zealand Ranking System.

Matches will be played in accordance with the Padel New Zealand Sanctioned Competition Framework, the Standards & Formats, and the Padel New Zealand Rules of Padel.

Every team receives a final placing through classification playoffs. Official Padel New Zealand Tier 2 ranking points will be awarded in accordance with the Padel New Zealand Ranking System.

Reflects the guaranteed match minimums (4 for men’s teams, 3 for women’s). Player Licence ($25 for the annual term) is a separate purchase — see the Player Licence section below.

FORMAT & SCORING

How the weekend runs.

GRADES & CAPACITY Men’s A & B (8 teams each) and Women’s A & B (6 teams each). 28 teams total.

STRUCTURE Each grade runs two pools into best-of-three semifinals into a final, plus classification playoffs (3rd/4th, and 5th–8th in the men’s grades) so every team receives a final placing.

MATCH MINIMUMS Men’s teams: minimum 4 matches. Women’s teams: minimum 3 matches.

SCORING FORMAT Two sets with Golden Point (No-Ad), followed by a 10-point match tie-break if required, for pool and placement matches. Best-of-three sets for semifinals and finals. All matches are self-refereed.

SCHEDULING & REST Match times shown are the club’s scheduling allocation only. Matches are not timed and are played to completion. The schedule is managed to maximise reasonable rest and recovery between matches wherever practicable.

CONDITION OF ENTRY

Padel New Zealand Player Licence.

STANDARD LANGUAGE · PADEL NEW ZEALAND

Every player needs a current Player Licence.

All players must hold a current Padel New Zealand Player Licence (2026/27, valid 1 July 2026 – 30 June 2027) to compete. Licences are $25 per player per year and must be purchased before registrations close.

A current Player Licence is a condition of entry.
